Introduction
I have owned many dogs and most of them were service dogs of one type or another. My most cherished dog, a German Shepherd named Jaque that was a law enforcement K9 who lived at home as part of the family for 14 years.
How long have you had a Shiba Inu
We got our first male Shiba (Kitt) 3 1/2 years ago (April 2008) as a pet. Our second Shiba was born 9/1/2011.
Do you show your Shiba(s) in Dog Shows?
Yes, since he was 9 months old, but he was promoted to full-time pet 11/2011 and we expect to show our new girl (Kimi) at the Silverstate show Mar 31 - Apr 1, 2012 in Bolder City.
Are you a Shiba Inu Breeder?
No, but in a few years we plan to start. We don't know enough about the breed and lines yet.
What other Meetup Groups do you belong to?
Las Vegas Hiking with Dogs Group, Las Vegas Kayakers Group and Los Angeles/Orange County Shiba Inu Meetup Group.
How did you find this meetup (search, craigslist, tear-off flyer etc)?

"I am new to Shibas, I got my first male puppy in May 2008 and my first female puppy October 2011. We show in the conformation ring and I am Secretary for the Shiba Inu Fanciers of Nevada."

This meetup group has been a great medium for reminding members of SIFN about upcoming meetings, but there hasn't been much activity around other types of activities. Other members of this meetup should feel free to schedule other types of meetups that would be of interest to other Shiba enthusiasts such as hikes, trip to park, etc... We have given the ability to schedule a meetup to all members of this meetup.

Thanks for the welcome Rex. We're looking forward to our 1st Shiba meetup. Yoshi was neutered on Oct 11 and wore his cone of shame for a week and didn't mind it at all. He was quite happy to resume playing at his doggie daycare though.

Minnie was missing for 3 weeks. I was blessed 2 get her back. The RJ will post a picture in lost & found 4 a small amt. I posted her picture daily on Craigs List in both pets & lost & found. Check Lied Animal Shelter at least every other day. Someone seeing her on Craigslist spotted her on another site where she was put up for sale and returned to me. I will keep my eyes open and search the Shelter and CL via the internet. God Speed for a safe return. Lora Ashley
